Dan T. Cook: Background
Born in Exeter, New Hampshire in 1971, Dan’s family moved often as his parents’ careers in education progressed. Dan is fortunate enough to call Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Northern California and Utah all “home” at one time. Living in these beautiful environments instilled an appreciation and enthusiasm for the outdoors.
After attending Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH and George Washington University in Washington, D.C., Dan began a career as a foreign exchange trader in New York City. Later, he moved to Salt Lake City and San Diego to trade energy commodities for large international corporations.
This expedition marks Dan’s official “transition” from the world of energy trading to full-time adventure travel. Previously, he completed a 1,200 mile solo dory trip down the Yukon River and the first non-motorized float of the Upper Green River between the Fontenelle and Flaming Gorge Dams since 1962.
